With a lapse in What to Wear Wednesdays, I am bringing it back full force. All of my clients ask for help on their outfits. It doesn’t matter if they need 1 or 4 outfits, it can be a hard decision to decide what to do. Most of my clients have not done a boudoir session before so this, so deciding and shopping for outfits can definitely be overwhelming to many. But if you go into a store with at least an idea of what you want, it can make it that much easier.
Here are my top 4 looks when shooting a session and the ones I hope my clients bring in 😉
Bridal Boudoir Outfit
My first pick for an outfit is something more bridal themed if you are doing this as a wedding gift. A white or ivory outfit with some gorgeous accessories is a great outfit. You can bring your wedding shoes, wedding jewelry and even your veil if you want. Some of my brides will even bring a bouquet for an added touch. This outfit is also one that can get many different looks. Do some with just the outfit/shoes, then add the veil for some, maybe flowers in another shot and then a couple shots with the whole look.
The outfits:
Waist clincher, bra, white thong, thigh highs
Crochet Bra and panty set
Romper
Sexy and covered
Next on the outfit list is the sexy black outfit but for those who want to keep somewhat covered. A lot of girls come in but want to keep their stomach somewhat hidden. These outfits are sexy but still not showing everything, the best of both worlds. They are great by themselves or you can throw in a garter belt or some thigh highs to add some more sas to the outfit. For those who want to show off their stomach just find some black bra and panty sets, babydolls that open in the front or more intricate lingerie like this piece
Bustier
Lace babydoll
Lace and Mesh Babydoll
*other items to fit into this category: corsets, high waited panties with bra
Relaxed and comfy
It’s not secret that a lot of men love the girl next door look. Little or no makeup, messy bedroom hair, the look you have when you wake up in the morning. Natural 🙂 One of my favorite outfits is just a cute pair of bottoms matched with a deep V-neck. It may not seem like much but it’s such a different look from above that men really love. I always get a lot of men that will come back after their significant others have ordered and will stock up on these images. You can wear them with a bra or without, it’s totally up to you and your comfort. No shoes of course and definitely little or minimal jewelry compliment this look.
*other items to fit into this category: white or colored tank tops, jeans (we’d unbutton), one of this t-shirts or dress shirts, an oversized sweater or cardigan
Topless with a favorite pair of panties is one of my favorite “outfits”. It still remains classy and it looks good on all body shapes. Yes, I put women in poses according to their body type but it really is for everyone. Despite the fact that is really isn’t a lot of clothing you can still get a lot of variety with it. All the shots above were taken in a 3×3 space using the floor, a plain wall and some gorgeous french doors. You can also use this outfit to put on the accessories if you didn’t want to in other outfits. Bracelets and big necklaces are great for this outfit.
The hardest part of this outfit? The nerves! I always end with this outfit because after an hour into the session my clients have reached the point of being relaxed and not nervous. Taking off the shirt for a couple shots seems easy after all of the other poses and moving around! Also, men love this one but they might request one thing….remove the hands :p
Secret to this look: finding the right pair of underwear. It’s really important to find a pair that flatter your butt and hips. I actually do not recommend thongs for this look. A boy short or something similar to the image above works well for most bottoms.
