Mrs M had a similar story to why I did my own boudoir session last month. Before babies it is easy to schedule your manicures and hair appointments and spending money on shoes is easy. When those adorable babies enter our world though, naturally they are our first priority. Our clothes haven’t been updated in months, maybe years. The last time I had a hair cut? HA! However, we have to remember to take care of ourselves as well and love on yourself!
“It is not selfish to fill your own cup so that you can pour into others. It’s not just a luxury, it’s essential”
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF THE ENTIRE EXPERIENCE?
I absolutely LOVED feeling like a princess. Everyone was so nice and welcoming, which made it so much easier for me to have fun!
DID ANYTHING CHANGE ABOUT HOW YOUR SEE YOURSELF?
Honestly, it made me realize how much more I need to appreciate myself. I am way too hard on myself after having kids, especially #2. I have learned to love myself even more.
WHAT MOTIVATED YOU TO DO A BOUDOIR SESSION?
I wanted to do one for my husbands wedding gift, but wasn’t able to schedule one in time because I actually had my second baby 2 months before getting married (Not planned!!). I forgot about it until recently, when I was thinking about what I could get him for our second anniversary.
BEFORE YOUR SESSION, WHAT WERE YOU MOST NERVOUS ABOUT?
I was actually the most nervous about seeing my pictures and what I would think afterwards.I judge myself pretty harshly and I am my own worst critic at times!
AFTER THE SHOOT, HOW DID YOU FEEL?
I felt amazing! So much energy to take on the world. The hair and makeup by Ramona was completely breathtaking. I actually felt like I looked better then on my wedding day! I loved how Leah directed me, but also made it fun and easy to do so.
WHAT WAS YOUR INITIAL REACTION TO THE IMAGES?
It was so hard to narrow everything down! They were all amazing. I couldn’t believe how they turned out!
ANY ADVICE FOR OTHERS LOOKING TO DO A SHOOT?
Just do it! Seriously! Being a tired mom of 2, I was unsure about how I would look, but everything blew my mind! I am so happy I did it, because it helped bring into reality what I actually look like outside of sweats and a pony tail.
